Our Lilizela Tourism Award

Dear Friends of Kaapse Stories,

Our team would like to share with you our excitement about the two “Lilizela Tourism Awards" which we have received last week for our outstanding tourism offering at The Rockwell Dinner Theatre, Green Point, Western Cape . The “Lilizela Award" was introduced by the Ministry of Tourism and South African Tourism with the aim of honour outstanding tourism offerings, motivating investment and incentivising market participants to continuously improve and grow products for the tourism industry.

The Minister handed us the award as winner of the category: “Roots and Culture” - for giving tourists the most authentic, value-for-money and fun experience in the Western Cape. Later, we also received the award as a “finalist” for the best “Cultural and Lifestyle” immersion in the Western Cape.

Lilizela Tourism Award

After 2 years of our dinner show “Kaapse Stories from the mother City”, having played over 600 shows to well over 40,000 guests, we appreciate this acknowledgement by the ministry and thank all of those who shared our vision to create a tourism product which is an authentically cultural experience, allowing the guest an insight into the vibrant and talented community of the Cape – combined with our fine Cape cuisine and our exciting South African wines.

To all of those who have supported us along the way – 'thank you' - as it was actually you who have made it possible for our unique new offering at the Rockwell to succeed.

Best of all for us here at the Rockwell is to see the many thousands of guests - local and afar - having big smiles on their faces, joy in their hearts and a twinkle in their eyes. Local visitors leave the show even more “proudly South African” and foreigners are amazed at the humour, diverse culture and artistic talent South Africa has to offer.

We hope to welcome you back at the Rockwell again soon,

Roland Seidel and The Rockwell Dinner Theatre Team.
