Never@Home Will Be Back!

never@ home dinner theatre

Never@Home would like to sing, dance and rave about our recent experience at The Rockwell Dinner Theatre. We were a party of 5 and would certainly go again in order to experience the good times all over again. We are also excited to recommend this unique and truly South African experience to our guests at the hostel.

We genuinely had a blast and it all started from the get-go. Arriving at your table with bread and salad to nibble on and sparkly hats to wear was a lovely touch. The hats immediately made everyone feel happy and quite a few photos were taken at this moment.

The show was incredible. The voices that we heard that night were simply phenomenal and somewhat unexpected. We also loved how interactive the show was, with a couple of moments where the audience got up and danced on the stage. At the end of the show everyone was dancing around together having a jolly good time! What FUN!

In terms of the food, once again we were blown away. The starter was plated and was delicious. We LOVED the fish pate and the samoosa. The main course is served as a buffet. We all agreed that we usually do not expect much from buffet style food. So our expectations were a little lower than they should have been. But boy, were we wrong. This buffet was fresh, flavoursome and really took South African cuisine to the next level. Let's just say that we went back for more and then perhaps a little more after that. With favourites being the cheesy potatoes, the potjie, fillet steak and the curry! The pudding was plated once again and consisted of a selection of South African favourites. We have to be honest and we agreed that we have had better malva pudding but this didn't matter too much as there was more on your plate to enjoy so there was something for everyone. We especially enjoyed the milk tart.

Overall we believe Kaapse Stories to be a MUST DO experience not only for holiday-makers but also for locals looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply to get out and do something a little different.

Thank you Kaapse Stories for an awesome time. The never@home crew/guests will be back!
