Or it will be. Following last weekend’s fun in the sun, we’re finally being blessed with some much needed hydration. We still urge you to be considerate when it comes to your usage, water doesn’t grow on trees and all that. We’re aware that we’ve completely warped this idiom. Our world class conference facilities are equipped with modern data projectors, TV and WIFI, and will be host to the Berlin eKapa Festival’s press and media conference on Saturday, 5th August. The event is hosted by J&B to promote the spirit of artistic and entrepreneurial ventures of young South Africans. Read more about the actual event here.

Let’s be honest, everyday should be women’s day, but because it’s actually National Women’s Day on the 9th and Rail Tourism , in collaboration with Drakenstein Municipality and other sponsors, will be hosting female tour guides, operators, media and agencies on their train trip through the Winelands Route. As tourism is the only sector that has shown significant growth in our country, we’ve decided to do our bit by sponsoring the event’s lucky prize draw . The prize is valued at R5000 and includes a weekend voucher for a two-night stay for two in a penthouse, bed and breakfast AND 2 tickets to see the Kaapse Stories musical dinner show @ The Rockwell Dinner Theatre.
In the vain of honouring and improving the lives of those who work their hardest for us, we’ve implemented a fun – albeit slightly confusing – initiative. Our staff will be swapping jobs for a day to keep everyone on their toes. You could be checking in with security, for all you know. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for all our staff tales. Personally, I’m off to go mix a Mai Thai. There’s rum in that, right? Or is it brandy?
Another reason to keep track of our Facebook page is for announcements on our newly implemented monthly ‘Madness Special’ – a 40% discount one weekend, every month.
It’s finally time for Barry Hilton to join us on Friday night, we hope everyone attending has a blast!
If you won’t be joining us for Barry’s show, here are a few ideas if you’re stuck on what to do this weekend:
1. The Robertson SLOW Food and Wine Festival will be running from Friday until Sunday. 25 top cellars and guesthouses will be hosting culinary-orientated events all weekend long. There’s also a wine cruise down the Breede River and a family market, so take the kids along. For more details click here.
2. Join 2016 The Voice SA winner, Richard Stirton at Café Roux on 4th August. Indulge in their delicious food while you fangirl.
That’s all for now, still trying to master this bloody Mai Thai!
